Thank you for your interest in Mastering The Bluebook Interactive Exercises 2023-24 Edition (MBIE).

MBIE is an online learning tool designed to help law students, pre-law students, and paralegal professionals develop legal citation skills.

The program consists of thirty-seven sets of exercises covering the citation forms most commonly used by practicing lawyers. The exercises are divided into six sections:

  1. Case Law;
  2. Enacted Law (statutes and constitutions);
  3. Rules & Regulations;
  4. Secondary Sources;
  5. Litigation Documents; and
  6. Additional Citation Rules (string cites, signals, quotations, and more).

Students will track their progress through the program using the Workbook, a home screen that retains their scores on tests and records their progress through the exercises.

For faculty, MBIE includes an easy-to-navigate Learning Management System (LMS) tracking student progress. The LMS also allows faculty to create groups of classes so that faculty working together can compare student performance across classes or the school as a whole.
